The World of Jessy ...

About ME

Hello, I’m so glad you’re here.

I’m a doula based in Nottingham, supporting families through pregnancy, birth and the early weeks of parenthood with holistic, compassionate care. My work centres around helping parents feel informed, supported and confident as they move through this life-changing transition.

At the heart of everything I do is a simple belief...

Every parent deserves to feel held, heard, respected and supported.

I’m 35 and live in Nottingham with my wonderful husband and our three children – our phenomenal daughter (14) and our two energetic beautiful boys (7 and 4).

I grew up here in Nottingham, but as a teenager I was eager for adventure. At 18 I spent six months volunteering on community projects in Wales and Zambia, an experience that deeply shaped my love of caring for others and supporting communities.

Eventually life brought me back home to Nottingham with my husband when we were just 20 and expecting our first baby.

Becoming a parent changed everything.

My children have been my greatest adventure, teachers and inspiration. Our days are happiest spent exploring Britain's beaches, wandering through woods, and enjoying the simple magic of family life.

Lifes challenges.

Not without its challenges, my first postpartum often felt like survival, a young mum juggling watchful eyes caused postnatal depression and anxiety, thankfully I saw the light again with the help of CBT and my supportive family.

Our life has also shown us early pregnancy loss in tandem with a diagnosis of epilepsy in 2016. After being told to stop trying to conceive for a year by neurologists we were fortunate enough to be blessed two year later with a rainbow. That pregnancy was so fuelled by anxiety and worry; navigating the health care system with my epilepsy and pregnancy felt like a mammoth undertaking. I was thankful to be under the specialist perinatal mental health team at the Nottingham Hopewood Unit through my pregnancy and it was at this time my inner birth nerd began to blossom so I could advocate for myself and my baby.

I find counselling and talking therapies a powerful tool in navigating difficult times, even now! Rest assured I will never bring my rollercoaster with me when I'm supporting you...self care, mentoring and self compassion is an important practice for me as your doula as it allows me to be fully present for you and dedicated to what you need me to be.

A Career in Caring...

Supporting people through meaningful moments in life has always felt like a calling.

For over 12 years I have worked in caring roles, including seven years with a hospice community team, supporting the delivery of holistic end-of-life care.

That experience taught me the profound importance of person-centred support, compassion, listening deeply, and holding space for people during the most significant moments of their lives.

It was an incredible privilege and one that shaped how I support families today.

Supporting Parents Through Pregnancy & Postnatal Life.

For the last four years I have been supporting families through pregnancy, birth and early parenthood. During my own pregnancies I realised that while clinical care is important, many parents also need something more; emotional support, reassurance, space to ask questions, guidance to explore their choices and someone who truly listens.

That realisation led me to retrain and launch my perinatal wellbeing and yoga business, where I support parents through antenatal birth preparation workshops, Pregnancy yoga, Postnatal and baby yoga, baby massage and as a specialist in pregnancy massage and postnatal massage treatments.

Now, trained as a doula with the wonderful team at Nurturing Birth, I've deepened the support I offer families during pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period.

Why I became a doula.

Nearly 20 years ago I thought I would become a midwife, but after experiencing my own births – each unique and transformative in their own way – I realised the support I felt called to offer was slightly different.

I wanted to provide holistic, nurturing, continuous support that focuses entirely on the parent and their experience.

I was incredibly fortunate to have the loving presence of my husband and my mum at my births. Their reassurance, encouragement and calm made all the difference.

That experience is what inspires my work today.

As a doula in Nottingham, my role is to hold a safe, calm space for expecting and new parents. I am passionate about informed choice, empowered parents, compassionate care, shared experience and supporting families in ways that feel completely right for them. No matter where you chose to give birth, I can support you.

Every birth and every family is different, and I believe there is no single “right way” to do this journey.

Holistic, Intuitive & Inclusive Care

Alongside my doula work, I am also trained in women’s massage therapy, offering pregnancy massage and postnatal massage treatments designed to support rest, recovery, relief and relaxation.

I also have training in neurodivergent birth support, something that feels especially meaningful to me as someone learning to live alongside my own (not yet diagnosed) ADHD brain.

This also allows me to support parents who may experience pregnancy, birth or early parenthood differently, helping create an environment that feels safe, flexible and understanding.

A Little More About Me.

When I’m not supporting families you’ll usually find me exploring the woods with my children, playing on windswept British beaches, buying far too much stationery(!), diving into a new “hyper-focus” learning rabbit hole about birth (my inner birth nerd is strong!) or enthusiastically starting a random craft project that may or may not get finished!

Life with my brain is always busy, curious and creative — which often translates into deep passion and dedication to the families I support.

My Promise to the Families I Support.

As your doula, I will always aim to provide compassionate, non-judgemental support, evidence-informed information, encouragement and reassurance, respect for your values and choices, nurturing care for both parents and baby.

Supporting families as they step into parenthood is one of the greatest privileges of my life.

I'd love to support you - Whether you're looking for full birth doula support, antenatal preparation, pregnancy massage, biomechanics & yoga support or postnatal care in Nottingham, I would love to connect and see how I can support you on your journey.

I look forward to working with you.

Big Love, Jessy x

The Dandelion

Resilience, Hope & Transformation

I have long been drawn to the beauty of the humble dandelion, delicate yet resilient. It holds deep meaning at the heart of my work as a doula. Often seen as fragile, it is in fact one of nature’s most enduring flowers—thriving in the most unexpected places, adapting, growing, and returning again and again with quiet strength.

For me, it beautifully reflects the journey into parenthood.

Each seed carried on the wind represents change—sometimes planned, sometimes unexpected, but always transformative. Like those seeds, every birth and postpartum experience unfolds in its own unique way.

There is vulnerability in this transition, but also incredible power, growth, and beauty.

The dandelion reminds us that strength does not have to be loud. It can be gentle, steady, and deeply rooted. It teaches us that even in moments of uncertainty, we are capable of more than we realise.

As your doula, I am here to hold space for all of it—the fragility, the strength, the questions, the new roots and the unfolding. To support you as you find your own way, trust your instincts, and grow into this new chapter with confidence and care.

Just like the dandelion, your journey deserves to be honoured in all its forms—wild, beautiful, and entirely your own.

That is why I chose the dandelion as the a symbol of my offerings.

Jessy & Mamababybliss

A group class environment, dedicated to the parent.

In 2022 during my 3rd pregnancy I trained in antenatal and postnatal yoga as well as infant massage, baby yoga & toddler yoga with MamaBabyBliss. I launched my business newly postpartum and I am very proud of everything that it has come from the community of MamaBabyBliss North Nottinghamshire.

I love welcoming families and holding a supportive and safe space for new parents to connect and find community.

All my classes are currently held at Oxton Village Hall, an easily accessible rural space near Southwell, Ravenahsed, Farnsfield.

At the 2026 Nottingham Baby & Toddler Community Awards I was shocked and delighted to be the Winner of 'Nottingham's Most Loved Parent Activity Leader'.

" Where do I start! There are so many wonderful things to say about Jessy’s classes!! I first met Jessy when I joined pregnancy yoga when I was about 15 weeks pregnant and continued with the weekly classes until my baby arrived. During pregnancy they were my favourite part of my week. Not only did they help with all the aches and pains of pregnancy but they also gave me a safe and warm and welcoming environment to share any worries that you often go through during pregnancy. Jessy has an amazing way of bringing complete strangers together and it was through these classes that I met my mum tribe (who I’d now be lost without!). Since the arrival of my baby girl we now do Jessy’s baby classes which again are the highlight of my week, not only does my baby love them but I love them too. Unlike other baby classes Jessy’s are just as much about the mums as they are the babies, so as well baby massage/baby yoga, every class involves some much needed mum time! I would thoroughly recommend Jessy to any expecting mum as she has made my journey to motherhood just that little bit more special!! Thank you Jessy!!! Xx "
