Wherever you live and wherever you're planning to birth, I'm here to support you. I cover the whole of Nottinghamshire — from Nottingham city out to Mansfield, Newark, Worksop, Retford and everywhere in between — as well as this I also cover East Derbyshire and South Lincolnshire borders and North Leicestershire, including the LE12 area around Loughborough, East Leake and the villages along the Nottinghamshire border .
My clients are based right across Nottinghamshire — Nottingham, West Bridgford, Beeston, Hucknall, Arnold, Sherwood, Carlton, Bingham, Southwell, Ollerton, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Mansfield, Newark and the surrounding villages — plus families just over the border in North Leicestershire, East Derbyshire & South Lincolnshire. If you're not sure whether you fall within my travel radius, just ask — on-call birth support is about being able to reach you reliably, not about a strict line on a map.
Choosing to birth at home is a valid, evidence-based choice, and I'm glad to support you in it. I work alongside your community midwifery team — my role is to help hold your birth environment, offer physical comfort measures, and take care of the practical things (aromatherapy, birth pools, postural support) so you can focus on you and your baby with the support of your partner if you have one and your midwives if you chose to invite them to your birth space. I'll help you prepare antenatally so you feel informed and confident in your choice, and I'll support your communication with your midwifery team throughout labour, without ever stepping into a clinical role.
Plenty of families I support also choose, to birth in hospital — and I travel to be with you wherever that is. I regularly attend births at:
And I may also be able to support you at:
Many families don't decide until later into the second or even third trimester, or change their minds along the way — and that's completely normal. My support isn't tied to one setting. I'll help you prepare for either path antenatally, and I'm ready to support you at home or adapt with you to a hospital birth if that's what the day brings.
What areas do you cover? The whole of Nottinghamshire, plus North Leicestershire (LE12), East Derbyshire (DE7, DE75, DE55), South Lincolnshire (LN6, LN5), South Doncaster (DN22) and surrounding areas and villages in Nottinghamshire borders. If you're close to these boundaries, get in touch to check I can reliably reach you.
Do you support home births? Yes. I support home birth across Nottinghamshire, working alongside your community midwifery team, I am yet to support a family planning a free birth, however I am also happy to discuss this with you.
Which hospitals do you attend births at? I regularly support births at Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham City Hospital, King's Mill Hospital, however i am happy to discuss the options if you are birthing at Lincoln County Hospital, Leicester Royal Infirmary, Chesterfield Royal Hospital and Royal Derby Hospital.
Can you support me if I'm not sure where I'll give birth? Yes. Many families decide later or change plans — my support covers both home and hospital birth, and I'll help you prepare for either.
Do you travel outside Nottinghamshire? Yes, within reason — North Leicestershire (LE12) and towards Lincoln, Leicester, Chesterfield and Derby for hospital births are all within my usual travel range. It is very dependant on my capacity and how comfortable you would be with it taking longer for me to be with you. There may also be a small adjustment in costs if there are lots of trips with additional miles.
