A safe, supportive space to talk through your birth story in the comfort of your own home, followed by a nurturing postnatal massage. For families across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
Investment £200
A birth debrief is a safe, supportive space to talk through your birth experience openly, honestly and without judgment. There's no script and no agenda. You lead the conversation, and we go at your pace.
Birth can be powerful, beautiful, overwhelming, or all three at once. Experiences we haven't processed can linger in the body and the mind long after the day itself. Being heard helps you begin to make sense of it all.
A gentle, informal session where I hold space for you to share and process your experiences of pregnancy, birth and the postpartum weeks. I come to you, so your session takes place in your own home, where you can feel comfortable, safe and calm. As a doula and perinatal massage specialist in Nottingham, I bring together emotional support and physical care. Your session ends with a full body massage, so you can release what your mind and your body have been holding.
Speaking your story can:
This isn't about fixing or analysing. It's about being gently witnessed.
As your doula, I hold space with compassion and care. I listen without judgment, I honour your experience, and I help you reconnect with your strength. Sharing your experience can carry so much power on your journey.
Emotions don't just live in the mind. They settle in the body too. Tension, tightness and fatigue can all be linked to unprocessed emotions.
'Be Heard' Talk it through - A gentle, trauma-informed conversation where you're fully listened to and your experience is honoured.
'Let Go' Release the tension - A full body postnatal massage to ease the physical tension your body may have carried since birth.
'Renew' Mind and body together - When we combine emotional support with physical care, we create space for deeper healing, integration and full self-renewal.
I believe the mind and body carry the weight of our experiences together, and both need care to truly move forward. That's why every birth debrief ends with a nurturing full body massage. Following your debrief, massage can:
My birth debriefs are non-clinical. I can't advise on why something happened medically during your birth, or what might have been done differently. For those questions, your hospital's birth reflections service is the right place to go.
My role is to help you process your emotions and feelings around your pregnancy and birth. Some families find the two work well side by side especially if you have questions about medical elements of your care or your babies birth.
"My holistic birth debrief and massage with Jessy was incredibly healing. She really listened to me and helped me work through some difficult parts of my labour and birth. Since our session I have been able to look back on the positives and have stopped trying to mentally change what happened. Jessy is caring, supportive and compassionate and she validated all of my feelings. The massage at the end was amazing and really helped to relieve the tension I've been holding since birth. I think everyone needs this session, even if birth goes to plan!"

What is a birth debrief? A birth debrief is a gentle, informal conversation where you can talk through your pregnancy, birth and postpartum experience with a doula who listens without judgment. You lead, and there's no right or wrong way to feel.
Do I need to have had a difficult or traumatic birth? Not at all. Birth can be powerful, beautiful, overwhelming, or all three. A debrief is for anyone who wants space to be heard and to make sense of their experience, even if your birth went to plan.
Is this the same as a hospital birth reflections appointment? No. My debriefs are non-clinical, so I can't explain medical decisions or clinical events during your birth. Your hospital's birth reflections service can go through your notes with you. My focus is your emotional experience, and the two can complement each other.
Why is a massage included? Emotions settle in the body as well as the mind. Ending with a nurturing full body massage helps release physical tension, calm the nervous system and support holistic healing of body and mind.
Can my partner be involved? Yes. We can work one-to-one, or I can facilitate all or part of the session with your partner.
Can I bring my baby? Of course. Your baby is very welcome throughout the session.
How long is the session and how much does it cost? I allow around 5 hours, including your massage. The investment is £200.
Where does the birth debrief take place? In your own home. I come to you so you can feel comfortable, safe and calm, and your massage takes place in your own space too.
Do you offer birth debriefs across Nottinghamshire? Yes. I visit families at home across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. Get in touch to check availability in your area.
How do I book? Send me a message through the contact form or on WhatsApp, and I'll send you some possible dates and times.
